Patients Included™ conference charter clauses and how PSNA 2025 meets them: 

  1. “Patients or caregivers with experience relevant to the conference’s central theme actively participate in the design and planning of the event, including the selection of themes, topics and speakers”.

    • One patient with experience relevant to the conference’s central theme has participated in the selection of topics and speakers. ​​

  2. “Patients or caregivers with lived experience related to the issues addressed at the event participate in its delivery and appear in its physical audience.”

    • To conclude our symposium on “Cannabis and Plant-Derived Pharmaceuticals”, the patient will participate in an in-person, patient-centered discussion panel on “Phytochemical Products for the Treatment of Chronic Pain”.

  3. “Travel and accommodation expenses for patients or caregivers participating in the advertised programme are paid in full, in advance. Scholarships are provided by the conference organizers to allow patients or caregivers affected by the relevant issues to attend as delegates.”

    • The travel and accommodations of the patient participating in the panel will be paid in full, in advance.

    • Five scholarships will be provided by the meeting organizers to allow patients affected by the relevant issues to attend as delegates. If you are interested in applying for a scholarship to attend, please email your application with a statement of financial need to the Local Organizing Committee (psna2025@yorku.ca). 

  4. “The disability requirements of participants are accommodated. All applicable sessions, breakouts, ancillary meetings, and other programme [sic] elements are open to patient delegates.”

    • We will make every attempt to accommodate disability requirements of participants, and virtual participation for patients who cannot attend in person. If you require accommodations please email the Local Organizing Committee (psna2025@yorku.ca). 

  5. “Access for virtual participants is facilitated, with free streaming video provided online wherever possible.”

    • There is a fee for attendance, but it can be waved on an as-needed basis.
